We had our first booth at the Hillsboro Farmer’s Market August 25th and it was a blast!
Josie Koehne and Kathleen Hersh staffed the table and Amelia Nestler biked over from her house to help set up, including hanging our new banner. It was a perfect summer day and we met quite a few people who were very fun to talk to and who had a number of interests and concerns ranging from money in politics to a woman’s right to choose to learning more about local candidates. Seventeen new people signed up for our newsletter! Kathleen and Josie took turns buying berries, Turkish taffy, caramel popcorn, veggies and flowers for our table. It was a fun day! We hope to get more volunteers to staff the table at future Saturday farmers markets, telling folks about our Washington County Unit, the upcoming Forum, and registering people to vote!
